Terms of use

Short, because a free app one parent wrote for his daughter does not need long ones.

The short version

  • Sprinto is free. There is nothing to buy, no subscription and no ads.
  • It is not affiliated with the Science Olympiad Foundation, and it is not an official SOF product or assessment.
  • It is practice, offered as it is. It cannot promise a rank, a score, or that it will be online tomorrow.
  • Print papers for your own children as often as you like. Do not scrape the app, attack it, or sell what comes out of it.
  • An account holder must be an adult, and is responsible for the children practising on it.

The rest of this page is the same thing said carefully. Nothing below contradicts the list above.

1. What Sprinto is

Sprinto generates practice questions for the SOF Olympiad papers — IMO maths, ISO science and IEO English at Classes 1 to 7 — and marks them. It offers adaptive practice, a daily warm-up, spaced repetition of mistakes, timed mock tests, printable papers with matching OMR sheets, and a dashboard for the parent.

It is a personal project by Krishna Kammaje, free to use, with no company behind it. Using it means accepting the terms on this page and the privacy policy.

2. Not affiliated with SOF

The Science Olympiad Foundation does not run, endorse, review or approve this app. "SOF", "IMO", "International Mathematics Olympiad", "NSO", "ISO", "International Science Olympiad", "IEO" and "International English Olympiad" are used here only to describe which exams the practice is for, and they belong to their owners.

Nothing here is an official exam, an official syllabus or an official assessment. A score on a mock test in this app is a score in this app. Registration for the real Olympiads happens through your school and SOF, and has nothing to do with us.

3. Who may use it

Create an account only if you are an adult — a parent, guardian or teacher. You are responsible for the children who practise under your account, for the profiles you create, and for the device they use. If a child uses your account, you are agreeing to these terms for her as well.

Access can be limited to a list of email addresses, and today it is not. Either way, access is a courtesy, not an entitlement: an account can be removed at any time, particularly if it is being used to abuse the service. Keep your Google account secure, since it is the only key to your children's data.

4. What we ask of you

Please do:

  • print papers and OMR sheets for your own children, as many times as you like;
  • use the app on as many of your own devices as you want, including installing it to a home screen;
  • tell another parent about it.

Please do not:

  • run scripts, crawlers or automated tools against the app, or generate questions in bulk to build your own collection;
  • try to read the answer keys out of the server, or work around the marking;
  • sell, publish or redistribute the questions or printed papers commercially, or pass them off as your own material;
  • attack, overload or attempt to break into the app, the database, or another family's data;
  • use it in a way that is against the law where you are.

Any of the second list can end an account, without notice.

5. The questions, and who owns what

Every question is generated from a template written for this app, and every figure is drawn by the app as vector graphics. Past papers were read for the kinds of question they ask — each kind became a generator — and no copyrighted question, figure or passage is reproduced. If you believe something here does copy protected material, write to kkammaje@gmail.com and it will be looked at and removed if it does.

The app, its code, its templates and its artwork remain the author's. A paper you print for your child is yours to use for her practice, and there is no need to ask.

6. No promises about results, and none about uptime

Sprinto is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It is one machine and one database, run at one person's expense. It may be slow, it may be down, a deploy may go wrong, and features may change or disappear. Keep anything you cannot bear to lose somewhere other than here.

Practising here does not guarantee a rank, a score, a qualification or any particular improvement, and it is not a substitute for a school, a teacher or a syllabus. The questions are written carefully and tested, but a template can still be wrong; if you find a question with a bad answer, please report it rather than trust it.

To the extent the law allows, the author is not liable for any loss arising from using the app — including lost practice history, a marking mistake, or an exam that went badly. Since the app is free, no refund is possible and none is owed. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Ending it, from either side

Stop using it whenever you like; ask us to delete the account and everything on it goes, as described in the privacy policy. We may also change the app, restrict access, or shut it down — it exists because one child needs it, and if that stops being true it may stop being run.

8. Law, changes and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute belongs to the courts of India. If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Changes appear on this page, with the date at the top moving. Continuing to use the app after that is acceptance of the new version.

Anything at all: kkammaje@gmail.com.
